The future of paint protection: Graphene Ceramic Coating

admin 588

The next evolution and future of paint protection are here. Graphene Ceramic Coatings are taking over the industry with their incredible performance, endurance, and unmatchable protection.

There is a long history of discovery and inventions within the Car Care industry that lead to this incredible creation. Car wax was once the ultimate protection for a car’s exterior and was discovered back in 1944. Following this at the dawn of a new millennium,  after much research and testing Nanotechnology was discovered which lead to the creation of Ceramic Coating. It wasn’t until 2004, when Graphene was discovered, that we thought such superior protection could be created.

Earlier on was used only for industrial purposes i.e protection against corrosion but nowadays it has a higher purpose. In this article, we are going to discuss all the facts about Graphene, what it is, and how it provides what was once an unreachable level of protection.

First of all, Graphene is a carbon-based nanomaterial which is well known as a one-atom-thick and two-dimensional sheet of carbon that has the visual structure of honeycomb-like the image below.

The best way to describe Graphene is as a single, thin layer of graphite. Once converted into Graphene the component becomes soft, flexible, and heat resistant. It´s these exact features that have made Graphene the perfect solution for exterior protection in the automotive paint coating industry.

This leads to the question: How exactly do the properties of Graphene protect a car´s exterior better than any other Ceramic Coating or wax?

Foremost, the heat properties of the Graphene reduce the amount of heat on surfaces, therefore, no watermarks are left when the surface is exposed to water. This solves one of the biggest problems and sources of frustration for car owners. Graphene is a more efficient solution as when a car surface has Ceramic Coating and gets wet in the rain, the water collects into beads and would mostly roll-off. However, the beads that don’t roll off, evaporate but leave watermarks. These marks, unfortunately, require removal by chemicals that damage and the Ceramic Coating.

Furthermore, when it comes to Graphene´s other properties, its flexibility makes it adaptable to its surroundings. Not only this but because it has been declared the thinnest but the strongest protectant for car exteriors, the surfaces are applied to become scratch-resistant and it creates a superior barrier that contaminants, oils, and water cannot puncture.

Now is the time to invest and level up. With a new year comes new goals. Make it one of your goals this year to provide the superior products your clients deserve.
